A public hearing regarding potential rezoning on Caxton Street in Whitecourt is scheduled for this Monday, July 20.
Soaring Eagle Support Society has applied to have its property at 3515 Caxton Street rezoned from a Hilltop Commercial (C-7) zone to a new Direct Control Supportive Living (D-CS) zone. This change would allow it to continue supporting individuals who are homeless or struggling to secure a residence by providing structured supportive housing.
The town was notified in April that the use of the property had changed, making it non-compliant with the current zoning.
Whitecourt residents can share their input on the potential rezoning in the council chambers of the Forest Interpretive Centre at 4 p.m. this Monday. More information on public hearing participation guidelines is available on the town’s website.
