Woodlands County council has adopted a new policy to hopefully help battle inflation for local residents.
Policy 6211 – Low Income Benefits Program becomes effective July 1, 2023.
Low-income Woodlands County homeowners will have access to:
• a low-income tax rebate of $150 flat rate per year,
• a transportation grant of a maximum of $300 per person per year,
• and three free snow plow flags per year, a $150 value.
Meantime, Woodlands County is set to renew a three-year funding agreement with the Pembina Hills School Division for a Family School Liaison Program worker at the Fort Assiniboine School while continuing to support students and families in Fort Assiniboine.
Officials note, the $19,892.97 annual funding supports the Family School Liaison, also known as a Success Coach, who officials say focuses on decreasing negative emotions and challenging behaviours in students, to help them build emotional coping skills.
