Woodlands County continues exercising fiscal responsibility.
At Woodlands County council’s June 8, 2022 meeting, Council was informed that the County had paid off a half-a-million dollar debenture.
Woodlands County took out the loan in 2016 to pay for an addition to their Whitecourt Administration building.
The final payment was made in Sept. 2021, with the County receiving notice that loan had paid in full in April 2022.
In a statement, the County says they are continuing down the path of fiscal responsibility by paying down their debt.
