After a three year hiatus, the Edson Trade Show is back.
The Edson and District Chamber of Commerce has not been able to host their signature event since 2019 due to COVID-19 restrictions.
“Our trade show was all set up and ready to go for April 2020, however, everything shut down the month before,” explains Chamber manager Kathy Arndt.
Up to 75 vendors are expected, and they are not all from the Edson area. Arndt shares they have booked vendors from everywhere between Jasper and Saskatchewan. One that Arndt highlights is they will have a hairdresser, InSehn Styles, set up and demonstrating their skills.
But it is more than just vendors. The Trade Show will also have live entertainment throughout the weekend, ranging from local musicians to exercise demonstrations.
There will be a wide variety of tasty treats as well. Las Tres Marias is a Mexican food truck that will be coming from Hinton, Dots Mini Donuts will be making the trip from Whitecourt, and the students from Parkland Composite High School will be serving up popcorn.
Arndt tells us there is a veritable excitement in Edson for the trade show this year.
“We have all been kind of indoors and shut down for two years, so this is an exciting thing to get to go to,” says Arndt.
The Edson Trade Show takes place April 29 and 30, 2022 at the Edson and District Leisure Centre. On April 29, it runs from 12 noon – 8 p.m. On April 30, the hours are 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Admission is $4 for adults, $3 for children and seniors, and children 3 and under are free.
