Woodlands County is going back to hosting all of its council meetings virtually for the time being.
County council made the decision at a special meeting on Sept. 9. The decision was made to bring the County in line with new COVID-19 protocols brought in by the provincial government on Sept. 4.
Woodlands County is making the most of the construction season while it can.
At a special meeting on Sept. 9, Woodlands County awarded the contract for slope stabilization on Township Road 593 B.
The contract for the project went to Whissel Enterprises LTD. County officials say they made the lowest bid of $471,183.
Council approved the contract at that cost, along with a $50,000 contingency. Woodlands County had budgeted a maximum of $850,000 for the project.
The County received a total of seven bids for the project. Whissel Enterprises was the second-lowest bid. The lowest bid was made by Complete Projects for $420,000. The Complete Projects bid was rejected, however, as they failed to include some of the necessary documentation in their proposal, according to County officials.
