This Thursday, the Town of Edson is celebrating its artistic side.
Aug. 19 sees main street Edson being host to Art on Main. From 4-9 p.m., Main Street from 2 Ave. to 4 Ave. will be full of music, art, and local artisans.
Musicians signed on to appear are Michael Lamb, Jack Williams, Nicole Berube, Robert Wilkinson, and Jesse Bedard. They will be playing acoustic sets at various locations along Main Street.
There will be activities for the kids, and Melissa’s Bouncy House Fun will be setting up a bounce house.
Few trucks will be on site to whet your appetite also, including Las Tres Maria’s and their Mexican food, as well as local favourite The Fresh Vine who’ll be near 2 Ave.
In addition to artisans selling their wares, the downtown businesses will also be open late.
Edson and District Chamber of Commerce Manager Kathy Arndt says, “This is a great time for people to get out and have a little fun while shopping locally at our stores.”
Town of Edson Community Development Coordinator Diana Inscho says they’re looking forward people coming out and enjoying themselves.
“The purpose of the event was to help infuse some excitement into Edson’s downtown core,” says Inscho.
Art on Main is a joint project between the Town of Edson, the Edson and District Chamber of Commerce, and the downtown businesses. They are already planning a second event for Alberta Culture Days on Sept. 16. If you would like to participate in the Sept. 16 event, visit Edson.ca/artinthepark.
