The Edson Fire Department responded to a structure fire on Sept. 12.
At about 3:40 a.m. on Saturday, the department was dispatched to a structure fire reported in the 5500 block of 13 Avenue in Edson.
The town says the first units arrived to find a fire within a chimney chase that had extended into the attic space. Firefighters reported quickly bringing the fire under control using handlines.
Crews then checked the affected area to ensure the fire did not spread into void spaces and was completely extinguished.
The department responded with an engine, ladder truck and three command units, and received support from Atco, Fortis and Emergency Medical Services.
The town says the cause of the fire is under investigation.
