The Grande Yellowhead Public School Division (GYPSD) has appointed André Morson to a temporary position as the education technology supervisor teacher beginning in the 2026-2027 school year.
The division says Morson has a background in educational leadership, digital governance and project management.
He has earned degrees from the University of Western Ontario, Queen’s University, and recently completed his master of education in school leadership at the University of Calgary. He also holds multiple certifications.
Before moving to Alberta, Morson co-founded the Compass Centre for Self-Directed Learning in Ottawa. Since moving to the province in 2016, GYPSD says he has served as an education team lead and a digital learning specialist with Inside Education, where he led professional development programs for teachers. He also taught at Harry Collinge High School and Jasper Junior Senior High School, where he secured grants for learning projects and facilitated student involvement in regional research projects.
Outside of work, Morson lives in Jasper with his partner, Nina, and their two dogs. He enjoys backcountry skiing, mountain biking and backpacking, and is a former Team Canada men’s roller derby player.
