A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for the M.D. of Greenview, near Fox Creek, Woodlands County, near Whitecourt and Blue Ridge, and Yellowhead County, near Edson.
Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) says conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may produce strong wind gusts and heavy rain.
Officials say thunderstorms may develop throughout the day, and driving conditions may be difficult.
