A new trial date has been scheduled for an Edson man charged with arson following a structure fire last fall.
Ricky Allen Peet, 50, is now scheduled for trial in Edson Court of Justice on Oct. 13, 2026. He was previously scheduled for trial on July 14, 2026.
It was early on Oct. 9, 2025, when Edson RCMP responded to a structure fire in town, where a local storage business was found engulfed in flames.
Officers deemed the fire suspicious and, using surveillance camera footage, were able to identify and arrest a suspect who was allegedly present when the fire was set.
As a result of the investigation, Ricky Allen Peet was charged with arson.
Peet was brought before a justice of the peace and remanded into custody.
