The federal government is extending a $100 million loan to help a lumber company in Western Canada.
Finance Canada says it’s offering the money to Millar Western Lumber Products to help it cope with tariffs and trade uncertainty.
Millar Western operates three mills across Alberta and British Columbia, including a pulp mill in Whitecourt.
Canada’s forest sector has been hit directly by steep U.S. tariffs and global trade disputes.
