An emergency alert has been issued for Thunder Lake Provincial Park.
According to Environment and Climate Change Canada:
At 8:52 p.m. MDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm that is possibly producing a tornado. Damaging winds, large hail and locally intense rainfall are also possible. The severe thunderstorm is located near Thunder Lake Provincial park and is moving to the east at 25 km/h.
This is a very dangerous and potentially life-threatening situation. Tornado warnings are issued when a thunderstorm is producing or is likely to produce a tornado.
Area: Co. of Barrhead near Thunder Lake and Holmes Crossing , Lac Ste. Anne Co. near Mayerthorpe and Sangudo , Lac Ste. Anne Co. near Cherhill and Glenevis.
