According to Barrhead County Enforcement Service’s spring report, calls to peace officers decreased by 32 per cent from January to April this year, compared to the same time last year.
The detachment says it actioned 68 calls for service and generated 450 files, representing a 32 per cent and a 13 per cent decrease, respectively, compared to 2025.
Of the county’s seven main divisions, the greatest number of files were generated in Division 3, but peace officers note this was largely due to the number of roads in that division with higher traffic volumes, leading to more traffic incidents being recorded.
Assisting the RCMP or fire and emergency services accounted for the greatest number of incidents responded to in the spring of 2026.
When it came to enforcing traffic bylaws, peace officers doled out 376 warnings, up from 303 during the same period in 2025, and 177 tickets, down from 263 last year.
Barrhead County council received this report for information during its regularly scheduled meeting on June 16.
