Edson’s town council has approved a $10,000 increase to the Vision Park Capital Budget to support an upgraded dugout design for the ball diamonds.
The project is in its final construction phase, which includes installing new dugouts across diamonds one through four, nine and 11.
Under budget constraints, the dugouts were previously designed with a chain link fence and a gravel base. The new design features fully built wood-frame dugouts with concrete pads.
Town officials say the changes should improve weather and wind protection, functionality and consistency across the park.
The $10,000 will be taken from the Recreation Capital Reserve.
The budget adjustment was approved by council during its regularly scheduled meeting on June 2. You can watch the full meeting below.
