Four local organizations stand to benefit after Whitecourt town council approved more than $27,000 in grant funding this week.
On May 26, 2026, council approved the awarding of $27,012.93 in funding under the 2026 Enhancement Grant Program.
Town officials note, the grant provides funding for programs, services and special events organized by local groups that enhance arts, culture and recreation in the community.
Recipients include:
• Five6Seven8 Cheer Association – Special Abilities Enhancement Project: $6,158.15
• Whitecourt & Area R/C Club – Rental Fleet for newcomers to try RC racing: $3,426.78
• Whitecourt Drama Society – Summer Camp 2026: $2,500.00
• Whitecourt Minor Soccer Association – Technical Development Training Pilot Project: $14,928.00
