A wind warning is in effect for Lac Ste. Anne County, near Mayerthorpe and Sangudo.
Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) says strong northwest winds gusts of 90 to 100 km/h are possible or occurring.
Winds are expected to gradually weaken this evening.
In the meantime, Local utility outages, or damage to roofs, fences, branches or soft shelters are possible. High-sided vehicles will also be pushed around by the wind.
ECCC advises residents to secure loose objects and watch for flying or falling debris if they are outdoors.
