A recent major project announcement from the Government of Alberta includes expansion planning for the Whitecourt Healthcare Centre.
Minister of Infrastructure and West Yellowhead MLA Martin Long says the government is investing $3.6 billion over three years to build new, expanded or modernized health and mental health facilities across Alberta.
“I am happy to share that I successfully advocated for Whitecourt Healthcare Centre to be part of a special Rural Hospital Enhancement Program,” he commented.
Long explained, the program provides planning funding to determine the viability and necessity of potential facility modernizations or expansions in rural communities.
The project is in the preliminary planning stages, and more details will be shared when planning concludes, Long said.
