One Fox Creek resident and one Whitecourt resident have been arrested following a traffic stop in the Whitecourt area.
The Western Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit and Whitecourt RCMP conducted a traffic stop on April 30, which led to a vehicle search.
Police say they seized 269 grams of cocaine and 152 grams of methamphetamine from the vehicle.
As a result, a 44-year-old male from Fox Creek and a 33-year-old female from Whitecourt were charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking. The 33-year-old was also arrested on an outstanding warrant and charged with failure to comply with a court order.
The female was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in the Alberta Court of Justice in Grande Prairie on May 11. The male was released on conditions and is scheduled to appear in the same court on July 14.
