According to the audited 2025 Financial Statement, the Town of Edson finished the year in a strong financial position, with both revenues and expenses exceeding budget.
Before considering “other” expense and revenue items connected to capital assets, the town finished 2025 with a surplus of $1.5 million.
Revenues reached $34.6 million, higher than the $32.5 million projected. Expenses reached $33.1 million, surpassing the budgeted $28.7 million.
Revenues were primarily boosted by government transfers, along with user fees and the sale of goods. Meantime, increased transportation and environmental expenses were slightly mitigated by lower expenses in protective services, and planning and economic development.
The town’s accumulated surplus reached $169.5 million, up from $150.1 million in 2024.
