As of about 10 a.m., the Northern Gateway Public School Division reports that Mayerthorpe schools have reopened after a power outage caused a temporary closure this morning.
The division asks parents to be prepared to pick up students if the power fails again.
It also says buses will complete the afternoon run.

The Northern Gateway Public School Division says Mayerthorpe schools are closed today, March 19, due to a power outage.
If families need assistance, they are asked to call the division office at 780-778-2800 or the emergency line at 780-706-8222.
According to the Fortis Alberta website, an outage began at 6:49 a.m. today due to a fire and power restoration is in progress. Fortis estimates power will be restored by 3 p.m.
A reported 21 customers are affected.
