The RCMP says a recent arrest in Onoway has resulted in the recovery of quantities of cocaine and methamphetamine.
On Dec. 18, the Alberta RCMP Community Response Team (CRT) and Parkland RCMP Crime Reduction Unit were making patrols and reportedly observed a vehicle acting suspiciously in Onoway. Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle, followed by a search.
As a result of the investigation, police allegedly seized:
- 83 grams of cocaine
- 3 grams of methamphetamine
- Canadian currency
- A replica firearm
A 33-year-old female resident of Whitecourt and a 33-year-old male resident of Fox Creek were both arrested and charged with: possession for the purpose of trafficking; and
possession of property obtained by crime.
Another 33-year-old was also charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and failure to comply with a release order.
Mounties say the accused individuals have been released on an undertaking with conditions to appear at the Alberta Court of Justice in St. Albert on March 25, 2026. As the information has not been sworn yet, police are unable to provide names of the accused.
