The Whitecourt Wolverines were supposed to play two games over the weekend, but with their Sunday match-up against the Calgary Canucks postponed, Saturday was their one shot to throw another win under their belt, and they did.
They took the Canmore Eagles 2-0 at the Canmore Recreation Centre on Nov. 15, maintaining their leading position in the AJHL North Division, now with 30 points.
There was no scoring in periods one or three.
At 6:41 in the second frame, Jalen Bianchet scored Whitecourt’s first point with assistance from Chayse King and Spencer Claerhout.
Cole Barrett netted another for the team at 19:08. Braden Nienaber and Brendan Ruskowski got the helpers which later resulted in the 2-0 victory.
