Whitecourt residents are invited to a dinner theatre production by the Pumpjack Players at the end of this month.
On Nov. 21, the drama society opens The Play That Goes Wrong, directed by Braeden Mattson and Shannon Roberts.
“It’s a play that goes wrong in front of your eyes, and as long as it all goes wrong properly, it’s going to be great,” Mattson commented.
The set itself is an instrumental character in the production, and Mattson said it’s one of the most complex sets the Pumpjack Players have put together.
Regardless, he was inspired to take on the challenge after seeing the play performed elsewhere and enlisted Roberts’ help with such a complex production.
In addition to the performance, attendees will enjoy a turkey dinner.
A 50/50 draw will also be running during the show, which raises funds for an arts post-secondary scholarship for local youth.
The show runs Nov. 21-22 and Nov. 28-29. Tickets are $50-60 depending on seating and are available online.
Doors open at 6 p.m., dinner is served at 6:30 p.m. and the show runs 7:30-8 p.m.
