On Sept. 9, Town of Edson officials say a piece of equipment made contact with a wall of the Edson and District Leisure Centre during the ongoing construction of the YCE Multiplex.
The town says no one was injured and only minor damage occurred to the interior and exterior wall of the skate sharpening room.
Crews began working on repairs yesterday, aiming to get the room operational as soon as possible so regular services can resume. Access during repairs is restricted due to the presence of vermiculite insulation.
Officials note, there are no structural concerns and the building is safe for regular use. Only the skate sharpening area has been affected by the incident.
