Residents in the Hamlet of Cadomin, in Yellowhead County, have a new gathering space available for use.
On July 19, residents, dignitaries and visitors alike celebrated the opening of the Cadomin Community Hall.
The day was packed with family-friendly activities, historical exhibits and featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony, drawing about 300 attendees over the course of the event. Celebrations concluded with a dinner and donor recognition event attended by 150 guests. Families with historical ties to the region were also in attendance.

Officials with Yellowhead County say the hamlet has been growing over the years, with a mix of full-time and part-time residents, and visitors to the area. This new hall is intended to be a focal point in the community, with the capacity to host community events, local groups and meetings, weddings, family reunions and more.
“We’re extremely excited to have the new hall up and running and open to the public,” commented Yellowhead County Mayor Wade Williams. “Cadomin is a beautiful location, and this hamlet really represents the amazing history of our municipality and the energy of our residents and community members. This hall will be a great hub for the community, and I know it’ll be a great place to host all types of events for generations to come.”
The county says the vision for the hall began with the formation of the Cadomin Community Society in 2019. In the following years, the group planned and fundraised, until funding was secured in 2022, with support from the society, Yellowhead County, the Alberta government, plus other industry partners and local donors.
The facility features a large event room, kitchen, lobby and community room, and a basement for activities and games.
