The Government of Alberta has announced nearly $10 million in funding for 81 projects across the province, through the Northern and Regional Economic Development (NRED) program.
Part of that funding includes $109,700 for Community Futures Yellowhead East, $150,000 for the Town of Whitecourt and $255,000 for Woodlands County.
Provincial officials say the funding for Community Futures Yellowhead East will be used to support a regional marketing strategy and training to improve investment readiness, attract private investors and support business growth in the Yellowhead East region.
They also say the funding being provided for the Town of Whitecourt will be used to develop a utility master plan to enhance readiness and support business attraction, while the funding being provided for Woodlands County will be used to support regional marketing and infrastructure planning to attract corporate investment and boost economic growth.
