UPDATE: Monday, April 7, 2025 – 4:40 p.m.
On April 7, 2025, at 8:08 a.m., Westlock RCMP received a report of a two vehicle collision on Highway 2 at Range Road 251.
Upon arrival, Mounties say the driver of one of the vehicles, a 29-year-old female resident of Westlock County, was deceased. The driver of the other vehicle, a 71-year-old male resident of Edmonton, was taken to hospital by STARS in serious life threatening condition.
RCMP say they remained on scene for several hours conducting an investigation. Police are now clear and normal traffic flow has resumed.

Westlock RCMP have closed a section of Highway 2 northeast of Westlock following a major motor vehicle collision.
Mounties responded to reports of a major collision in the area of Highway 2 and Range Road 251, just before 9:00 a.m. on Monday, April 7.
Officials say this section of highway will be closed while units respond and it will remain closed while the investigation takes place. Mounties say a detour should be set up on Township Roads 602 and 604.
Drivers in the area are asked to follow instructions from first responders.
