The town of Whitecourt will once again be a host town for Lemonade Day in 2025.
Lemonade Day is an annual Community Futures Yellowhead East event that teaches youths how to start, own and operate a business. Officials say this program gives youth in participating communities the opportunity to experience entrepreneurship by setting up their business during the community-wide Lemonade Day taking place on June 14.
Organizers say interested youths will be required to attend a training session and complete a workbook that teaches them how to create a business plan, form a budget and find potential investors.
At the regular meeting of council on Monday, March 24, council approved a motion to recognize Lemonade Day as June 14, authorized council members to judge booths on the day and agreed to provide space for training sessions at the Forest Interpretive Centre.
Whitecourt’s annual Party in the Park is also on June 14.
Interested youth are being asked to register before the May 15 deadline.
Registration information can be found on the Lemonade Day 2025 website.
