The Edson Fire Department responded to a structure fire in the area of 53 Street and 6 Avenue, at around 4:20 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 20.
Officials say two engines, a heavy rescue and two command vehicles were dispatched to the scene by the Edson Fire Department and the Yellowhead County Fire Department dispatched a third engine and a third command vehicle.
Upon arrival, crews found a fully involved garage at the rear of the property and discovered the fire had spread from the garage to two adjacent homes.
Crews say they utilized several handlines to protect exposures and control the fire, including exterior and interior water application. They also conducted searches in both homes and an extensive overhaul took place to extinguish fires in void spaces.
While there was extensive damage to all three structures, officials say no injuries have been reported.
The Edson Fire Department is thanking the RCMP, Associated Ambulance, Atco, Fortis, and Town of Edson Utilities and Public Works for their assistance.
Officials say this incident is currently under investigation by a third-party investigator.
