Christmas tree pickups are set to begin in the Town of Whitecourt on Monday, Jan. 6 and should continue throughout the month.
Town officials say there is no set schedule as trees will be picked up from across the community on a weekly basis, however, pickups may be delayed due to snowfall or higher priority tasks.
Residents are being asked to remove all decorations and tinsel from their trees and place them where they normally place their garbage.
Staff at the Whitecourt Regional Landfill say they have set up a designated drop-off location for residents who wish to dispose of their trees themselves.
