Officials with the Town of Mayerthorpe have partnered with Lac Ste. Anne County to ensure Mayerthorpe remains a safe and well-managed community.
On Thursday, Dec. 19, officials with the Town of Mayerthorpe announced a partnership with Lac Ste. Anne County, designed to support by-law enforcement and enhance safety for both residents and visitors to Mayerthorpe.
Under this new agreement, officials say Lac Ste. Anne County Peace Officers will be able to assist with the enforcement of by-laws in town, including:
- Traffic violations.
- Animal control.
- Property maintenance.
- Noise complaints.
- and other local ordinances.
The agreement also aims to facilitate resource sharing, expertise and personnel allowing for a more effective and efficient response to by-law concerns in Mayerthorpe.
Mayerthorpe Mayer Janet Jabush, said this agreement should help residents feel more secure.
“We are excited to work with Lac Ste. Anne County to ensure our community remains safe and well-maintained,” said Mayor Jabush. “By pooling our resources, we can better address by-law violations in a timely manner and provide a more visible and active presence within our Town.”
Officials with both municipalities hope this agreement will foster improved communication and ensure a unified approach to local law enforcement and governance.

Officials also note that Mayerthorpe residents can still report by-law concerns directly by calling the Town’s Office at 780-786-2416 or through the Town of Mayerthorpe website.
