Hinton RCMP are seeking witnesses and dashcam footage from the public that may help identify a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run in mid-August.
On Aug. 15, Hinton RCMP say they received a report of a hit-and-run involving an alleged Dodge Dakota and pedestrian in the area of West River Road that had happened at approximately 6:30 a.m., that morning.
According to the report, after hitting the pedestrian, the suspect vehicle was last seen fleeing east on Swisher Drive.
The suspect vehicle is described as:
- 2000-2001 Dodge Dakota, quad cab.
- Rust patches on the passenger side near the rear and front tires.
- Tinted rear windows.
- Possible rack in the bed of the truck.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have witnessed this accident or who may have dashcam footage recorded in the area of West River Road or Switzer Drive in Hinton between 6:20 a.m. and 6:40 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 15, to come forward and contact their local RCMP detachment.
