The fire restriction that was in place for the Forest Protection Area of Alberta including Woodlands County, Yellowhead County, the Town of Edson and the Town of Whitecourt has now been lifted.
Rain and cooler temperatures over the last few days has helped reduce fire concerns in the area, but experts are reminding residents that it is still important to exercise extreme caution while doing any kind of burning.
Officials say fire permits are still required for any backyard fire pits and are reminding residents to keep their fires to a manageable size.
