Two individuals have been arrested and charged by Whitecourt RCMP following a break-and-enter on an oil lease site located near Windfall Road.
On the evening of Sunday, July 28, Whitecourt RCMP say they received a report of a break-and-enter in progress on an oil lease site near Windfall Road. Upon arrival, Mounties say they were able to identify and locate a vehicle matching the description of a vehicle used to access the site. Officers say they initiated a traffic stop which resulted in the arrest of two individuals.
Officials say 38-year-old Theresa Savard and 36-year-old Jesse Rudichuk, both residents of Sturgeon County, have been charged with the following offences.
- Break and enter with intent
- Possession of break-in instruments
Police say both Savard and Rudichuk were taken before a Justice of the Peace and were released with conditions. Their next court appearance is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 17 at the Whitecourt Court of Justice.
