Officials with Lac Ste. Anne County have implemented a Fire Restriction as of 2:00 p.m., on Thursday, July 11.
Under this restriction, officials say all issued Fire Permits have been cancelled and no further permits will be issued moving forward. County Transfer Stations are exempt from this constraint but are under strict burning guidelines.
Residents are being informed that Burn Barrels, Fireworks, and unattended open fires of any type or size in any appliance are not allowed, further, any device that emits an open flame from any unattended fuel source is not allowed. Backcountry campfires or recreational fires are also not allowed.
Officials say wood-burning smokers and other cooking appliances, along with campfires in acceptable pits are still allowed so long as there is continuous monitoring and extinguishing methods readily available.
Residents are being told to report any wildfire to 9-1-1 with exact location to assist Lac Ste. Anne County Fire Personnel in promptly locating and extinguishing these fires.
