The Town of Whitecourt has a new deputy mayor.
At the regular meeting of council on Monday, June 24, Councillor Tara Baker was appointed as the new deputy mayor.
Baker is currently serving in her first term as a councillor, having been elected in 2021, and represents council on many committees including Communities in Bloom, the Eagle Tower Victim Services Board of Directors and the Whitecourt and Woodlands Performing Arts Society.
Baker’s term as deputy mayor will run from July 1, to October 31, 2024.
