Online registration for Summer Recreation Programs in Barrhead opened at 10:00 a.m., on Wednesday, June 12.
According to the Town officials, descriptions can be found on the Town of Barrhead website, as well as in the Spring/Summer Barrhead Resource Guide which can be found at multiple locations around town including:
- The Town Office.
- Barrhead Regional Aquatics Centre.
- The Blue Heron Office.
- The FCSS Office.
- The Barrhead Public Library.
Organizers say they are offering a wide range of entertaining programs this year that are designed to spark curiosity, including:
- Slime Science – Unleash your inner scientist as we dive into the wonderful world of slime and conduct mind-blowing experiments. Prepare to be amazed!
- Dino Day – Calling all aspiring paleontologists! Join us for a prehistoric adventure, where we’ll dig up fossils, learn about dinosaurs, and have a roaring good time with a cool presentation from the Royal Tyrrell Museum.
- Movie Mayhem – Lights, camera, action! Grab your popcorn and get ready for a cinematic extravaganza. We’ll watch your favorite movies, relax, and play movie-themed games!
- Crafts Galore – Let your creativity run wild as we delve into the world of arts and crafts. From painting to sculpting, your imagination is the limit!
Officials also say two new sessions have been added for 2024.
- A Kids Golf Clinic – Friday, July 19, from 1:00 p.m., to 4:00 p.m.
- Paddle River Golf Course.
- $25.00 registration fee + $5.00 for a hot dog and pop at the golf shop.
- Bring your own clubs if possible.
- A Fitset Ninja Obstacle Camp – Friday, Aug. 16, from 1:00 p.m., to 5:00 p.m.
- Barrhead Curling Rink.
- $5.00 registration fee.
- Open to youths aged 5-17 with different times for different age groups.
