The Fire Chief for Barrhead County has downgraded the fire restriction that was previously in place for the county to a fire advisory, effective as of 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21.
Under this advisory the following burning is now allowed:
- Backyard campfires in an approved fire pit
- Charcoal, wood pellet, & propane BBQs
- Torches
- Burn barrels & incinerators (with permit)
- Small burn piles & yard clean-up (with permit)
- Large burn pits (with inspection & new permit from fire hall)
Officials note that other small burns may be allowed and urge residents to contact their local fire guardian for further clarifications.
Backcountry campfires outside an approved fire pit, large brush piles, windrow burning and fireworks are still prohibited.
