After an extensive search and hiring process, the Town of Edson is welcoming a new Chief Administrative Officer.
The town says Christine Beveridge has accepted the CAO position, which will commence on June 1, 2021. She will take over the role from interim CAO Sarah Bittner, who will return to her role as General Manager of Corporate Services.
Beveridge has over 20 years of municipal experience, and her most recent role was serving as the CAO for the Town of Lamont.
Edson Mayor Kevin Zahara says Town Council is excited to have the new CAO join the organization and the community.
“Christine has extensive experience in municipal government, including roles in Westlock, Parkland County, and Fort Saskatchewan. She is also a part of the AUMA Municipal Governance Committee. Council would also like to thank interim CAO Sarah Bittner for stepping into the role as the hiring process was underway.”
Beveridge says she is excited to join the Edson team.
“Edson has set itself apart as a forward-thinking organization that prides itself on a culture of trust. I believe in building a strong collaborative relationship with council, staff, and the community and can’t wait to get started.”
She adds that she plans to continue to foster an environment that is built on trust, transparency, innovation, and creativity.
