A pair of Edmonton residents are facing multiple charges after Edson Mounties seized a stolen truck earlier this week.
On Nov. 13, 2023, at 1:00 a.m., the Edson RCMP received a call from a community member reporting a suspicious truck on 10 Avenue in Edson. Police say the complainant believed there were firearms in the truck.
RCMP officers were dispatched right away and located the vehicle with two occupants, a male and female. In the truck, investigators found multiple rifles, a handgun and over 1,000 rounds of ammunition. Mounties say further investigation revealed the truck had been stolen from Morinville, AB, the day before. According to police, the male was also found in possession of illegal drugs believed to be amphetamines. Both suspects were arrested and transported to the Edson Detachment.
