Administration for the Town of Edson presented council this week with an update regarding the Pivotal Energy Project.
Following numerous meetings with area landowners, Town officials say Pivotal was able to negotiate acceptable commitments and have received their Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) licenses.
Officials say the company has until Sept. 30, 2023, to provide temporary emergency access plans to the satisfaction of the Town. Conditional approval has been given for the development of the processing facility with fire suppression and buffer zone plans approved and in place.
Town officials note, however, there is also some clarification required on responsibility for potential intersection improvements at 54 Street and 2nd Avenue as per a Traffic Impact Assessment submitted by Pivotal. Those discussions are ongoing, add Town officials.
