Town of Edson residents can expect an increase of trails in and around the community.
At the latest Edson council meeting, Weyerhaeuser, along with the Forest Resource Improvement Association Of Alberta (FRIAA), presented plans for a trail expansion project.
Weyerhaeuser officials say this project will expand the existing trail system by approximately 6.2 kilometres within Willmore bike park and 0.6 kilometres within the town of Edson for a total of 6.8 kilometres.

“Willmore Park is certainly one of the well-used areas in our community and it’s really a hidden gem within West Yellowhead,” commented Edson Mayor Kevin Zahara. “Adding more trails just adds more options for people to get outside, recreate and enjoy the outdoors.”
