UCP candidate Glenn Van Dijken has unofficially been re-elected to represent the riding of Athabasca-Barrhead-Westlock.
“I am very happy with the local results,” says Van Dijken when asked what his thoughts were on the election results. “We were able to secure more of the percentage of votes than we had targeted. Throughout the campaign we were getting positive feed back from constituents and so we are happy with the results and of course I look forward to working with my families and communities in the Athabasca-Barrhead-Westlock region to ensure their needs are being addressed.”
Van Dijken noted one of his top priorities moving forward is to advocate for his constituents.
“Top priorities are typically to answer the needs on the infrastructure side and but also on the services, education, health care and senior services. So I will continue to advocate for my constituents and the unique needs of rural Alberta so it is a perspective I will continue to bring to the table of government.”
Official results will be announced Thursday, June 8, 2023.
