Grande Yellowhead Public School Division (GYPSD) is pleased to announce that Mrs. Bailey Benson has accepted the position of Principal of Niton Central School beginning the 2023/2024 school year. District officials say she has been the Assistant Principal of École Pine Grove Middle School since September 2021.
Benson began her teaching career in 2014 for one year at Wildrose School Division before accepting a position as the Grade 2 teacher at Niton Central School. Over the years, she has taught grades one through eight in a variety of subjects. In 2018, she became the Assistant Principal and Learning Support Teacher at Niton until she moved to Pine Grove in 2021 as their Assistant Principal.
District officials say Benson received her Bachelor of Education from the University of Alberta where she specialized in middle years education, grades four through eight. She will be completing her Master of Education in June at the University of Calgary for Educational Leadership. When not at school, Bailey enjoys being outdoors, visiting Vancouver Island, skiing and spending time with her family on her acreage.
