Edson RCMP announced Friday afternoon, they received a complaint from Parkland High School regarding a possible threat to the school.
Mounties say students approached school administration before noon Friday, that they were warned Thursday by a student to not attend school the next day. According to police, the school was put into a “hold and secure” while RCMP interviewed the students.
Mounties confirmed, all students and staff are safe.
Police, however, say a 15-year-old student was identified, located and arrested without incident, adding there is no indication the school was in immediate threat.
RCMP say this individual has been charged with one count of uttering threats. They will not be identified, however, due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
