Rocky’s House of Horror returns to Whitecourt tomorrow to offer a scaling level of fright to residents.
Hosted by Ballad Group (3780 30 Street), its first night of scares runs Oct. 23 at 6 p.m. Friday’s event will be a medium scare level, with the lights off but animatronics on.
On the morning of Oct. 24, it’s time for the family-friendly event, with scares at the minimum. Running 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., tickets are $5 per person or $20 per family.
Then, from 7-9 p.m. that evening, it’s time for the maximum scare level, complete with extra scarers and new animatronic features. This is the first year the event is running a full seven days; residents can enjoy a night of fright during the same hours from Oct. 25-30 as well. On these evenings, tickets are $10 per person.
The event is also a fundraiser for the Bear Necessities at Pat Hardy School. This year, funds will support new playground equipment. Clare Kirkeby, fundraising coordinator for Bear Necessities, says a few pieces of equipment are aging, and the group hopes to replace them with inclusive options that anyone can use.
Although the event has only been fundraising for Pat Hardy School for four years, it’s been running for 20 years.
