Whitecourt families are invited to a special RCMP presentation about the online dangers to youth.
At 6 p.m. on Sept. 24, the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team’s Internet Child Exploitation (ALERT-ICE) Unit will host a presentation discussing sextortion, child luring, online predators and more.
Police say the event is meant to provide participants with knowledge on how to keep children safe and give them a realistic understanding of the dangerous activities that can occur online.
As sensitive topics will be covered, the minimum recommended attendance age is 14 and up. The information shared will be catered towards parents, guardians and professionals working with youth, but all community members are encouraged to attend.
The presentation takes place at the Forest Interpretive Centre.
