The numbers are in: the fifth annual Mayor’s Charity Golf Tournament in Edson raised $25,976.34 this year.
Edson Mayor Kevin Zahara hosted the tournament at the Edson Golf Club on Aug. 28.
This year, the event supported the Community Care Foundation of Edson and District and its efforts to bring a CT scanner to the Edson Healthcare Centre.
“Every year the community and local businesses step up in a big way to support this event and the organizations we contribute to,” said Zahara. “The Community Care Foundation does great work for our region as they work alongside local healthcare professionals to identify needs and fund essential medical equipment. We appreciate the work they are doing, and we hope this money will help gain traction as they aim to purchase a CT Scanner for the Edson hospital.”
Currently, Edson and area patients have to travel out of town for CT scans.
This year’s donations bring the total raised over the tournament’s five years to over $128,000.
