A Yellow Advisory for Frost has been issued for Whitecourt and the surrounding area.
According to Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), freezing temperatures with frost are expected tonight.
Meteorologists say temperatures are expected to drop to, or below freezing, overnight tonight. However, temperatures will improve mid morning.
Officials say damage to plants, trees, and crops is possible. Residents are encouraged to take preventative measures to protect cold-sensitive plants, trees, and crops. Cover up plants, especially those in frost-prone areas.
Frost advisories are issued when widespread frost or freezing temperatures are expected during the growing season.
