Whitecourt hosts the 11U AA Tier 3 provincials this weekend, and the Whitecourt Royals Blue are looking to bring home the championship.
Running July 31 to Aug. 2 at Graham Acres Park, Pool A of the tournament includes the Okotoks Outlaws, Irma Tigers and Acme Red Sox. Pool B includes the Whitecourt Royals Blue, SJP Jays and Innisfail Hawks.
The Royals play at 3 p.m. Friday against the SJP Jays, then take on the Innisfail Hawks at 9 a.m. Saturday, with Sunday game times to be determined from those results.
In addition to baseball action, the Whitecourt and District Taekwondo Association will provide a barbecue at the event. The host Royals will also facilitate team challenges, such as a home run derby, and present a sportsmanship award. Attendees can also participate in a variety of raffle contests.
Results will be uploaded to the Baseball Alberta website as they become available.
